Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth Problems: 12 Real Fixes for Hearing Aids, Android Auto & More (2026)

Last updated based on reports through mid-2026. Bluetooth bugs on the A56 have shifted with each software update, so if you’re reading this months from now, check whether your issue matches your current One UI version before assuming a fix still applies.

If you came looking for a Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth fix, you have likely already landed on the same recycled list everywhere: turn it off and on, forget the device, clear the cache, or reset network settings. Useful, sure, but it’s the same five generic steps copy-pasted across a dozen sites. None of it addresses the specific Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth issues real users face daily—like your phone dropping a call halfway through because the caller couldn’t hear you anymore, or your hearing aids losing pairing out of nowhere.

To find real answers, we dug through actual Samsung Community threads—the messy, months-long discussions where real owners compare notes—instead of another generic troubleshooting page. What emerged was a much more specific set of complaints than a simple Samsung A56 Bluetooth not working message.

This guide breaks down those real-world bugs: Samsung Galaxy A56 hearing aid Bluetooth issue dropouts, the Galaxy A56 Bluetooth update issue that appeared after recent patches, Samsung Galaxy A56 Android Auto Bluetooth issue disconnect loops, Samsung Galaxy A56 Auracast setup and Samsung Galaxy A56 LE Audio settings, call audio routing bugs, video lip-sync lag, Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth battery drain, and how reliably the phone handles Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth multipoint connections across two devices at once.

A quick honest note before you dive in: not every A56 owner runs into any of this. Plenty of people use this phone daily with zero Bluetooth complaints—general reviews often focus on physical hardware, or pairing a Samsung Galaxy A56 back cover or reviewing general features like Samsung Galaxy A56 eSIM support. However, these Samsung A56 Bluetooth problems are real, well-documented, and recurring for a meaningful number of owners. They depend heavily on which software version you’re running, which specific accessory you’re pairing, and sometimes your region or carrier variant. If your Bluetooth has been rock solid so far, consider this a practical reference to bookmark in case something goes wrong later.

1. The Update That Broke Bluetooth for a Lot of A56 Owners

This is the piece that most generic troubleshooting guides skip entirely, and it’s actually the most critical factor if you are experiencing Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth problems after update.

Multiple users in the official Samsung Community reported that their device’s Bluetooth connection was rock solid—connecting the first time, every time—right up until a specific software update landed. One user described that ever since a July 22, 2025 update, Galaxy A56 Bluetooth keeps disconnecting or becoming severely unstable, sometimes connecting and sometimes failing altogether. In some bizarre instances, the phone even attempted to connect to a headset that was boxed up and switched off entirely.

That is far from an isolated Samsung A56 Bluetooth problem. Other users reported that after a Samsung A56 Bluetooth after One UI update, the phone would lose all paired devices at random. Because this occurs across diverse accessories—cars, hearing aids, robotic mowers—it confirms that the issue stems from the phone’s software rather than individual hardware accessories.

There’s also a power management angle tied to the update cycle. Community threads highlight battery usage and elevated temperature complaints appearing alongside Bluetooth stability issues after a One UI release.

How to Fix Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth Problems Related to Updates

• Check Your System Version: Go to Settings > Software Update and note your current build. If your connection broke immediately after a patch, the firmware update itself likely introduced the bug.

• Review System Configurations: If you recently set up your device, verify your baseline settings using our guides on the first things to do on Samsung Galaxy A56 and the best One UI settings for Samsung A56.
• Check for Follow-up Patches: Samsung typically addresses Bluetooth regressions in subsequent system updates rather than rolling back updates. Checking for a new update via the Galaxy Store or system settings is your best route.
• Send Direct Feedback: Open Settings > About phone > Send feedback (or use the Samsung Members app) to send error logs directly to Samsung support.

2. Hearing Aid Bluetooth Problems on the A56 (Oticon, Widex, ReSound, and Others)

If you use hearing aids, you may have encountered the extensive community discussions surrounding the Samsung Galaxy A56 hearing aid Bluetooth issue. The symptoms differ significantly from standard Bluetooth headphones disconnecting.

Users of brands like Oticon, Widex, and ReSound report that the phone frequently loses its Bluetooth pairing or fails to initialize the microphone properly. One Oticon user noted that they had to toggle Bluetooth off and on repeatedly just to get the microphone working on calls, despite the same hearing aids working flawlessly on older hardware like the A52 and A53 (as detailed in our Samsung Galaxy A56 vs A55 comparison).

Symptoms Reported by Hearing Aid Users:
├── Frequent Bluetooth pairing drops requiring a hearing aid restart
├── Microphone fails mid-call, accompanied by an audible click
├── Paired device list cleared unexpectedly (often after system maintenance)
└── Audio routing failing on one ear while remaining active on the other

Recommended Workarounds for Hearing Aid Connectivity

1. Use Dedicated Hearing Aid Settings: Instead of pairing through standard Bluetooth settings, navigate to Settings > Accessibility > Hearing enhancements > Hearing aid support. This utilizes the ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids) protocol directly.
2. Cycle Hardware Power: Open and close the battery door (or use the charging reset gesture) on your hearing aids to force a fresh handoff rather than toggling Bluetooth on the phone.
3. Routine Maintenance: Periodically clear the system Bluetooth cache via Settings > Apps > Show System Apps > Bluetooth > Storage > Clear Cache.
4. Reset Wireless Configurations: Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings. If persistent errors remain, you can review our full guide on performing a Samsung Galaxy A56 reset.
5. Adjust Device Proximity: Keep the phone close to your body during active calls to maintain low-energy transmission limits.

3. Android Auto Keeps Disconnecting — A Different Problem Than Regular Bluetooth

When dealing with a Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth not connecting to car error or wireless Android Auto drops, it is important to understand that Android Auto operates differently than standard Bluetooth audio streaming.

While Bluetooth handles the initial handshake and phone call profiles, wireless Android Auto transfers display data over Wi-Fi Direct. If your connection drops mid-drive, the failure could be occurring in either protocol or during the handoff between them.

If you are also encountering broader network drops, review our dedicated troubleshooting guide on Samsung Galaxy A56 Wi-Fi problems.

Step-by-Step Android Auto Troubleshooting

For Wireless Android Auto Drops:

• Isolate the Connection: Test with a physical USB cable once. If wired Android Auto remains stable while wireless disconnects, the issue is isolated to Wi-Fi Direct or Bluetooth handoff protocols.
• Clear Application Data: Go to Settings > Apps > Android Auto > Storage and tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.

• Re-pair connection: Unpair the vehicle in your phone’s Bluetooth settings, clear the phone from the car’s infotainment memory, and configure the pairing from scratch.
• Disable Power Restrictions: Go to Settings > Apps > Android Auto > Battery and select Unrestricted to prevent background task killers from severing the link.

For Wired Android Auto Disconnects:

• Inspect the Cable: High-data transfers require high-quality cables. Swap out worn or charge-only cables for a multi-gigabit rated USB-C data cable.
• Clean the USB Port: Remove lint or debris from the phone’s charging port that might cause intermittent hardware disconnects.

4. Does the Galaxy A56 Support Auracast and LE Audio?

Yes! A common misconception is that Auracast and Bluetooth 5.x LE Audio features are exclusive to Samsung’s flagship S-series. ReSound‘s official compatibility database lists the Galaxy A56 5G alongside flagship models for Auracast-enabled hearing devices.

Starting in One UI 8.5, Samsung integrated the Samsung Galaxy A56 Auracast setup into the system interface under the name “Audio broadcast.”

Note: To utilize Audio Broadcast, your connected headphones, earbuds, or hearing aids must also support the Bluetooth LE Audio standard.

How to Broadcast and Receive Audio Broadcasts

• Broadcasting Audio (Sharing to Nearby Devices):
• Settings > Connected devices > Audio broadcast > Share tab > Choose Media/Voice > Start Broadcast

• Listening to a Broadcast (Public Venues / Friends):
• Settings > Connected devices > Audio broadcast > Listen tab > Scan and Select Stream

5. Bluetooth Calls Where the Other Person Can’t Hear You

A Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth microphone not working issue during calls is distinct from general media streaming issues. In these instances, you might hear the caller clearly through your headset, but the Bluetooth calling problem prevents your microphone audio from transmitting.

This occurs when the system fails to transition from the A2DP (media playback) Bluetooth profile to the HFP/HSP (hands-free calling) profile.

Troubleshooting Call Audio Routing Steps

1. Toggle Audio Output: During an active call, switch the call audio output from Bluetooth to Phone Speaker and back to Bluetooth to force a profile renegotiation.
2. Adjust AVRCP Settings via Developer Options:
   • Enable Developer Mode: Go to Settings > About phone > Software information and tap Build number 7 times.
   • Open Settings > Developer options.
   • Scroll down to Bluetooth AVRCP Version and test changing the setting (e.g., from 1.5 to 1.4 or 1.6).
3. Verify Accessory Firmware: Check your headphone companion app (such as Galaxy Wearable or third-party tools) to update the accessory firmware.
4. Clean Re-pairing: Delete the device from Bluetooth settings, restart the phone, and pair the accessory again.

6. Audio Lagging Behind Video Over Bluetooth (And How to Fix It)

If you encounter Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth audio delay or lip-sync issues while streaming videos, the root cause is typically the active Bluetooth codec selection. Different codecs balance Bluetooth audio quality against Bluetooth latency.

How to Change the Active Bluetooth Codec

1. Ensure Developer Options are enabled.
2. Connect your Bluetooth headphones and begin playing media.
3. Open Settings > Developer options and navigate to Developer Options Bluetooth codec.
4. Review and adjust the active codec based on your needs:

Note: On Android, manually assigned codec settings in Developer Options may revert to defaults upon reconnecting the device.

For overall software optimization, see our guide on Samsung Galaxy A56 One UI customization.

7. Is Bluetooth Draining Your Battery?

While modern Bluetooth LE protocols consume minimal power when operating normally, an unstable connection can lead to Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth battery drain.

When a device gets trapped in an incomplete connection state, the Bluetooth 5.x radio continuously attempts background handshakes, preventing the processor from dropping into a low-power idle state.

• Identifying Bluetooth Power Consumption:
• Settings > Battery > View Details > Check for high background usage under Bluetooth

Steps to Resolve Unusually High Drain

• Re-pair Misbehaving Accessories: Unpair any accessory showing high background usage and pair it fresh.
• Review General Battery Health: If your battery issues persist beyond Bluetooth usage, check our comprehensive guides on how to improve Samsung Galaxy A56 battery life and the Samsung Galaxy A56 battery drain fix.
• Check Charging Infrastructure: If power issues affect charging speeds, consult our guide on Samsung Galaxy A56 fast charging not working fix.

8. Can the A56 Reliably Stay Connected to Two Devices at Once?

Managing Samsung Galaxy A56 Bluetooth multipoint connections depends on the specific hardware ecosystem you are using:

1. Galaxy Buds & Auto Switch

Galaxy Buds utilize Samsung’s proprietary Auto Switch (Seamless Earbud Connection) across logged-in Samsung Account devices, rather than standard simultaneous multipoint.

• To Enable: Open Galaxy Wearable > Earbuds Settings > Auto switch to other devices. Ensure both devices are signed into the same Samsung account.

2. Smartwatches & Fitness Trackers

Smartwatches maintain a separate low-energy data link for syncing health stats and notifications. This usually runs smoothly alongside Bluetooth media streaming. However, routing call audio through both a watch and a headset simultaneously can increase latency.

3. Car Infotainment Systems

Most vehicle head units request exclusive audio profile access. If you have both a vehicle system and a wireless headset active, manually disconnect the device you aren’t using to prevent media stream conflicts.

10. Common Mistakes That Make Things Worse

• Assuming All Symptoms Have One Fix: Treating a microphone routing bug the same as an Android Auto Wi-Fi handoff error leads to ineffective troubleshooting.
• Blaming the Accessory First: If multiple devices fail simultaneously, the issue likely stems from the phone’s software updates rather than hardware failures across all accessories.
• Skipping Specialized Menus: Pairing hearing aids through standard Bluetooth settings bypasses protocol optimizations available under the Hearing Enhancements menu.
• Ignoring Physical Data Cable Requirements: Using low-quality charge-only cables for wired Android Auto often causes disconnect loops that mimic software bugs.
• Refusing System Updates: While a specific patch may introduce a regression, avoiding subsequent updates prevents you from receiving official bug fixes released through Google Play Services and Samsung system updates.
